Chaos Labs Exits Aave Ecosystem, Citing Fundamental Risk Management Philosophical Differences
BlockBeats News, April 7th, Chaos Labs announced in a blog post that it will be stepping down from its core contributor role in the Aave ecosystem after three years of involvement. The team stated that there was a fundamental disagreement in their "risk management approach," which has only widened as the protocol evolved. Chaos Labs cited three main reasons:
· Core contributor attrition leading to significantly increased operational pressure and risk
· Aave V4 expanding the risk management scope while adding operational and legal burdens
· Sustained participation operating at a loss, with profitability remaining challenging even with a raised budget
The team mentioned that staying on the current path would either require lowering the execution standard or continuing to operate at a loss, both of which are deemed unacceptable, hence the decision to step back.
